Good morning, puzzlers!!

Welcome back to the latest installment of my crossword blog! Today’s puzzle is inspired by an Andy Kravis tour-de-force: Andy runs an excellent blog, Cruciverbalist at Law, and this puzzle is just one of his many sweet publications. Solving it now may spoil what I’ve created, but you should definitely check it out at some point! Anyway, I’ve whipped up a 16 x 15 grid full of all sorts of gimmicks for your enjoyment, but before you solve, MAKE SURE TO READ THE NOTEPAD. It isn’t essential, I guess, though it’ll prevent a good deal of confusion from occurring.

One last plug before I’m out: go to this! A tournament with a focus on indie stuff? Hosted by some awesome guys? Close to home (for me, at least)? I am soooo there. And you should be too.

Sincerely,

The Grid Kid

Happy Monday, solvers–

Hope you have today off like I do, so that your weekend isn’t over yet…it’s really a shame we have a holiday for Columbus, but hey, I’ll take an extra day to rest! It’s actually my fall break, which means this semester is halfway done already; time flies when you’re having fun, I guess. Speaking of which, we’re already into Week 7 of this thing, and damn, I didn’t think I’d last that long! So thank you all.

Today’s puzzle is for those who aren’t afraid of stacks of long entries in a themed puzzle. And more importantly, for those who love when a simple phrase is turned into a pun fit for a nice revealer entry. Enjoy, folks!

Sincerely,

The Grid Kid

Welcome back, everybody!

UVA football remains undefeated in the ACC, and the O’s have advanced to the ALCS, so I’d say this was a pretty good weekend! Looking forward to the current week, which miraculously does not feature a single test, and then I’ll be on my way home for a relaxing fall break with family and friends.

In other news, I have recently been put in touch with crossword great Arthur Schulman, who is a UVA professor emeritus of sociology…I had absolutely no idea this was the case! Planning to meet with him in a few weeks, on camera, to talk puzzles and whatnot. Always interested in meeting and learning from fellow constructors, so, uh, hit me up sometime if you’re willing to tolerate my fanboy-esque nature 🙂

This week’s puzzle is a 19 x 19 construction brought to you by my inner nerdy self. There really isn’t much else to it!

Sincerely,

The Grid Kid
