Good evening, puzzlers!

Ah, it feels good to be back…finals are almost done, this brutal semester is finally over, and I’m ready to go hibernate until 2016. Before that, however, it’s time to dig up a puzzle I’d had 3/4 done several weeks ago, only to find that my PC .txt-to-.puz stuff still wasn’t working. So here it is now…in the spirit of a veeery belated Thanksgiving! Just felt too gimmicky not to share; I’ll be back with something more timely next week (yes, that’s right, next WEEK, whoop!). Will say this: as far as the whole “indie element” goes regarding my puzzles, this one’s definitely up there in random crap you don’t usually find in mainstream crosswords. Also, if I may say, 24D might just be one of my favorite clues I’ve ever written…MIGHT. I haven’t decided whether or not it’s too stretchy.

Sincerely,

The Grid Kid

I’m Alive

Friends, colleagues, and other puzzling extraordinaires–

I’ve decided that if anyone wants to write a biography on me, the title should be along the lines of “I Should’ve Done Something: The Story of Sam Ezersky.” Was I able to resolve my aforementioned tech issues as soon as I thought? Nope, took three weeks. Have I been busy lately? Finals and final projects, nuff said. Though have I been making puzzles? Actually, yes. As a matter of fact, there are many, many near-completed puzzles on my cutting board that were created during this month; I never lost the puzzler in me, but the final push never seemed to emerge. Also embarked on a few new puzzling projects that had to take precedence over this…so with the little time I had to construct, I never got around to posting here. Will elaborate on said projects in an upcoming post.

Anyway, as finals die down and I get back to my beloved blog, I just wanna say how overwhelmed I am by all the support that many, many of you poured out. Several comments asking if I’m alright/stating how my puzzles are missed (most are invisible to this blog, but I’ve kept them in my queue). Private emails. Even phone calls! Gosh, guys, I can’t put into words how much this has meant to me…though it’s bittersweet since I’m just as much filled with regret.

All in all, I apologize for the delay (that’s chapter 1 of the biography, right there), and I’m grateful to announce that I’m back. Ready to make more puzzles, especially knowing how much people care. It fuels me, and you’ll see it in my work in the days to come.

Warm thanks all around,

Sam Ezersky–writing my name here rather than my alias to emphasize the powerful human emotion resounding in me as a result of your support.
